Can You Be Here Now?

WELCOME TO prana farms

Prana Farms is dedicated to the living energy we balance. Nourishing, revering, honoring our bodies as we move through space during this lifetime. This was once a simpler time to live. Our minds have become a morass of thought and constant activity. Our farm, our intention, is to dial us back to human connectivity and more harmonious, quieter living.

Welcome to Prana.

As this is our home, we are invite-only. Feel free to contact us if you’d like to connect!

The birds

We love our flock! No roasters and no roosters. Our ladies are a mix of Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorps, and Barred Rocks. We free range them out back during the day and they all head back to the coop at night.

All organic feeds, all the time. Zero growth hormones, because who needs that in the morning scramble!? Our eldest is “Lucy,” a Brooklyn transplant (like us!) going on Year 2. She’s also our most consistent daily layer.

BLUE

Our barn cat was hired full time in April 2015. He’s primarily after would-be chicken-feed-pilfering chipmunks.

the bees

Fingers crossed, our two queens are still happy. With just a whiff of pheromone in the air, they command over 500 workers each. Queens are marked with a blue dot on their backs, so we can easily tell them apart from honeycomb-builders in the center of the hive.

For the Ark

Las queremos Lamanchas – bred for their fatty milk produciton and sweet disposition, our goats are milked daily to keep production fluid. From this raw milk we produce cheese, soap, and a healthy dollop of yogurt. Our goats were named after Matt Timms’ (shout out to the Takedowns) favorite metal bands: Maiden and Pantera.

WILD-FLOWER BEES

IT'S ALL THE BUZZZZZZZ

Prana Farms' bees feed on the pollen of wild grass, flowers, and trees. From birch trees to daisies, our bees enjoy a healthy, diverse, organic diet and produce the valley's finest honey.

alpaca

4 multi-colored males have joined our fieldscape. Named after the Greatest Band That Ever Was - August, Mexicali, Starr, and Magnolia.

We shear coats once a year, in the late Spring.

CerberusBasil Hayden guards our gates. She’s mostly bark and even the occasional nip. Her favorite food is avocado and she's a bit overzealous on the football pitch.
